Portico Quartet nominados al Premio Mercury siempre han sido una banda imposible de precisar. Enviando ecos del jazz, música electrónica, música ambiente y el minimalismo, el grupo creó su propio sonido cinemático singular, a lo largo de tres álbumes de estudio: año 2007, y su trabajo 'Knee-Deep in the North Sea'. Año 2010, el producido por John Leckie y tutulado 'Isla' en 2010. Y en el año 2012, la grabación titulada 'Portico Quartet'.
