Los hechos maravillosos protagonizados por personajes preternaturales o extraordinarios están en el origen de los mitos, que funcionan como elemento aglutinador y son la base que dota de identidad a las comunidades humanas. La estructura narrativa e suna parte esencial tanto del mito como del cine. Las películas seleccionadas para esta decimonovena edición del ciclo cinematográfico ' Peor… ¡Imposible!', que coordina Jesús Parrado, muestran cómo diferentes cinematografías utilizaron mitos en su propio beneficio mediante la adulteraciónde sus estructuras.
