Blas Fernández es uno de los bateristas mejor considerados del panorama musical nacional. Prueba de ello son las numerosas giras y grabaciones con artistas como Mauri Sanchis, Soledad Giménez, Kepa Junkera, Benito Lertxundi, Gontzal Mendibil, Mikel Urdangarin, El Consorcio, etc. También ha grabado junto a artistas internacionales como Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Dean Brown, Chuck Loeb, Steve Weingart o Joey DeFrançesco. Su trayectoria es realmente ecléctica y absorbe géneros muy dispares, lo que proporciona un carácter abierto y global a su música, expandiéndose en todas direcciones. Esto se refleja en Urbanetniko, su celebrado primer trabajo discográfico como líder.
