La reelaboración de la música tradicional de Asturias en la línea del folk europeo es el objetivo del trabajo de Felpeyu. Elaboran su sonido fusionando una instrumentación que proviene de la tradición popular asturiana con la procedente de un ámbito europeo, atlántico... más general y actual, aunque sin perder el sonido acústico. Sus fuentes son diversas: cancioneros de música popular, partituras y manuscritos de música coral harmonizada de cantares populares, archivos sonoros de grupos de investigación etnográfica, la música popular que está en el ámbito de la vida diaria y, al fin, nuestras propias composiciones basadas en estructuras y ritmos tradicionales. Felpeyu se considera un agente más del proceso de recuperación y dignificación de la cultura de Asturias.
