Maite es una artista versátil. Tras estudiar violín en la línea de la música clásica, se especializó en música antigua o movimiento histórico en el Conservatorio de Ámsterdam con la ayuda del premio Nicanor Zabaleta.

Como resultado, ha trabajado con algunos de los grupos de música antigua más importantes de Europa Central durante los últimos 15 años. Algunos de ello son Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, B'rock, Anima Eterna Brugge, Holland Baroque, Ricercar Consort, Les Timbres, Capriccio Stravagante, Solamente Naturali o Vox Luminis.
Sin embargo, el violín no es la única herramienta creativa de Maite: como le encanta explorar los huecos entre palabras, instrumentos musicales, armonías y sonidos, ha lanzado tres álbumes como cantautora: dos de ellos bajo el nombre de Neighbor con Josh Cheatham) y un tercero, 'Hezurren Azpian', su primer álbum en solitario. El cuarto y último es 'Krak', junto con el colectivo Zart.
