Brigitte y Xavier se dedican a la ganadería bovina en Normandía. Ella es soñadora, tiene la cabeza en las nubes. El, con los pies en la tierra, vive por y para su trabajo. Con la marcha de sus hijos, a Brigitte cada vez le pesa más la rutina de la pareja. Un día, en un arrebato, decide hacer una escapada. Destino: París. Xavier se da cuenta entonces de que quizá la esté perdiendo. ¿Lograrán reencontrarse? ¿Y cómo reinventarse después de todos estos años.

Marc Fitoussi (Copacabana) dirige esta comedia, que ha co-escrito con la colaboración de Sylvie Dauvillier. La película está protagonizada por Isabelle Huppert (Elle, La pianista, Amor) y Jean-Pierre Darroussin (Unos días para recordar, El Havre). Completa el reparto el actor sueco Michael Nyqvist, célebre por su trabajo en la adaptación al cine de la saga de novelas Millenium de Stieg Larsson.
