La aparición repentina de cientos de miles de fotografías permiten conocer los rostros de los trabajadores que superpoblaron durante 4 décadas un valle industrial que hoy languidece deshabitado. Mientras tanto, un grupo de niñas, tres jubilados y un experto arqueólogo trabajan de forma aislada en la preservación de la memoria de sus antepasados. No se conocen entre ellos ni coinciden en sus motivaciones para intentar mantener vivo un recuerdo que cambió para siempre la historia de un lugar pero que ya apenas existe. Los mineros, el arqueólogo y las niñas saben que la indiferencia va a ser el mayor de los reco-nocimientos públicos que van a obtener con su esfuerzo ¿Por qué hacerlo? ¿Qué recom-pensa obtienen? ¿Para qué sirve cuidar la memoria?
