El director de Return to Homs, Talal Derki, vuelve a su tierra para vivir dos años con la familia de Abu Osama, miembro de Al-Qaeda en Síria. Allí será testimonio de cómo sus hijos son entrenados, desde muy pequeños, para convertirse en soldados de la Jihad. Descubrimos desde dentro qué significa crecer con un padre jihadista.


Sus dos hijos, Osama y Ayman, adoran y admiran a su padre y obedecen sus palabras, pero mientras Osama parece seguir el camino de la Jihad, Ayman quiere volver a la escuela... Después de ganar el Premio del Gran Jurado del World Cinema en Sundance, Talal Derki nos seduce con una historia que, a través del día a día de dos niños, nos permite comprender la complejidad y la tragedia del conflicto que vive Siria actualmente.
