En la Varsovia de nuestros días, Blanca oye la leyenda del cartógrafo del gueto. Según esta leyenda, un viejo cartógrafo se empeñó, mientras todo moría a su alrededor, en dibujar el mapa de aquel mundo en peligro; pero como sus piernas ya no lo sostenían, como él no podía buscar los datos que necesitaba, era una niña la que salía a buscarlos para él.


Blanca tomará por verdad la leyenda y se lanzará a su vez, obsesivamente, a la búsqueda del viejo mapa y, sin saberlo, a la búsqueda de sí misma.
