El material que da orixe a esta cinta ye una obra de teatru que, al empar, ta basada nos archivos policiales secretos del casu Fence del 1981, cuando un mozu deceicionáu escribió mensaxes de protesta contra'l réxime de Ceausescu nes paredes. Una provocadora denuncia contra'l totalitarismu.

Radu Jude ye una de les voces más interesantes del cine européu contemporaneu. Asina lo amuesen los sos trabayos anteriores 'Aferim' o 'Scarred hearts'.
