Dos vagamundos entamen una pelegrinación desde Francia a Santiago de Compostela. A lo llargo del camím dambos piden la comida y válense del autostop p'aportar al so destín.

Nel so periplo van atopando una serie de personaxes peculiares colos que comparten aventures misterioses y dacuando sobrenaturales, al empar que la película reflexona sobre los grandes dogmes teolóxicos.
