Son los años 40. Mientres la ciudá de Londres comienza a recuperase tres la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la escritora moza Juliet Ashton (Lily James) busca l'argumentu pal so llibru próximu. Un día recibe una carta d'un desconocíu que-y presenta un llamativu club de llectura: la Sociedá Lliteraria y del Pastel de Piel de Pataca de Guernsey. Intrigada por estos escéntricos personaxes, Juliet decide viaxar a esta pequeña islla, ensin saber qu'alcontrará muncho más qu'una gran historia.
