El maestro del jazz cubano Chucho Valdés llega a Gijón/Xixón para ofrecer su único concierto en la Península dentro de su gira europea 2020. El pianista y compositor, fundador de la mítica banda Irakere, considerada la más importante de la historia de la música cubana en la mitad del siglo XX, presenta el repertorio del álbum 'Jazz Batá 2', un trabajo excepcional que combina un trío de piano jazz con tambores batá donde encontraremos temas como 'Obatalá', que hace referencia al dios de la sabiduría y la justicia y otros que quieren recordar a su familia como su '100 años de Bebo'. Este disco le hizo ganador del premio a Mejor Álbum de Jazz Latino/Jazz en la 20ª edición de los Latin Grammy Awards.
