Flamante ganadora a mejor debut de los recién celebrados premios BAFTA, 'Bait' ha sido la gran película independiente del año en el Reino Unido. Los premios en Lisboa, Estocolmo o Sevilla vinieron acompañados de las excelentes críticas en el Sight and Sound, The Times o The Guardian. Rodada con una cámara Kodak de 16mm del año 1976 y evocando a la obra maestra de Flaherty rodada 85 años antes, 'Hombres de Arán', Jenkin (que dirige, monta, produce y fotografía) plantea un cuento entre la crítica a la gentrificación y una manera de hacer cine que ha dicho adiós. Martin Ward es un pescador, pero no tiene barco. Su hermano Steven ha reconvertido el barco de su padre en una embarcación de recreo para turistas, abriendo una disputa entre los dos hermanos.
