Arno Rafael Minkkinen (Helsinki, Finlandia, 1945) es un fotógrafo finlandés-americano que ha dedicado casi cinco décadas a un solo concepto: el del autorretrato desnudo en comunión y contrapunto con la naturaleza y el entorno urbano.


Profesor emérito de Arte en la Universidad de Massachusetts Lowell y docente en la Universidad de Aalto en Helsinki, Minkkinen ha realizado más de 100 exposiciones individuales y 200 exposiciones colectivas en galerías y museos de todo el mundo. Sus textos y encargos académicos y curatoriales también han sido extensos y de alcance internacional. Ya en 1969, antes de que el género del autorretrato se transformara en lo que es hoy, Minkkinen comenzó lo que se convertiría en una búsqueda personal: trabajar dentro de limitaciones estrictamente auto-establecidas.
