Más d'un sieglu depués de la so estrena, esta propuesta nueva quier alloñase de los tópicos y llugares comunes pa enfusase na esencia de la historia y llanzar una lluz nueva sobre ún de los personaxes más poliédricos de la ficción contemporánea: Carmen. Pa ello foi necesaria una actualización, recrear un espaciu atemporal alloñáu de too costumismu, de manera que nun s'interponga ente l'espectador y la protagonista nengún tipu de barrera temporal, y una revisión, porque una pieza que tien más d'un sieglu d'antigüedá precisa d'una mirada nueva y coraxosa, pero absolutamente respetuosa cola esencia de la historia. Con estes premises plantegóse la escenografía y el vestuariu, modernos y atemporales.
